Hartpury College - Near Cheltenham

Cheltenham
Cheltenham became a spa town in 1716. According to tradition, the medicinal waters were discovered when local people saw pigeons pecking at mineral deposits which had formed around a spring.
Early visitors to the spa included Handel and Samuel Johnson, but it was a visit by George III in 1788 that led to the rapid development of Cheltenham as a fashionable spa. The town’s many fine Regency houses, built between 1790 and 1840, are impressive reminders of this period of Royal patronage.

Nearby, the historic city of Gloucester dates back to Roman times. Gloucester was once an important sea port and equal in importance to London (Richard III was crowned in the city in 1216). More recently, Gloucester Cathedral provided one of the locations for Hogwarts School in the movies 'Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone' and 'Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets'.
