Kingswood School
Kingswood School was founded in 1748
by John Wesley, the famous preacher, originally as
a school for the sons of priests. It moved to its present
location in 1852 and in 1972 became co-educational,
one of the first boarding schools to do so.
The school is located in a beautiful campus, overlooking
the city of Bath about 15 minutes' walk, or a 5-minute
bus ride, from the city centre. The main buildings
are in local stone, and there are views over Bath and
the surrounding countryside from the terraces.
Accommodation
Accommodation is provided in five houses on the campus,
in a mixture of single-bedded rooms and small dormitories,
which are limited to eight students per room. There are
shower and toilet facilities on every floor. Each house
has a common room and television lounge. A laundry
service is available at a nominal charge.
Sports Facilities
Excellent facilities for sports include a sports hall
complex, indoor swimming pool and Astroturf, as well
as extensive playing fields and tennis courts.
Activities
A full programme of social and leisure activities is
arranged, including discos, quiz nights and talent
contests.
