Terms and conditions of enrolment

Unless otherwise specified all fees include:

  • tuition (but not examination fees)
  • educational excursions and sport as specified in the Course Finder.

Accommodation

  • Standard accommodation is a shared room with a local host family (2 sharing unless otherwise requested) on a full board basis.
  • Single room accommodation in homestay is available for a supplement of £25 per week.
  • Personal laundry facilities are included in the fees for those students staying in homestay accommodation.
  • Amounts charged for homestay accommodation are paid by the School as an intermediary to the householder without any profit being taken by the School.
  • Special alternative accommodation can be arranged, when available, at a supplement.
  • For students in homestay accommodation that is not within walking distance of Stafford House, a free Stafford House courtesy bus service is provided (Monday-Friday) to and from the School.

General conditions

  • Students are required to pay a registration fee of £50 and a deposit of £100. This £100 will be deducted from the fees payable, but will not be refunded if the student fails to start or complete the course.
  • Fees are payable in full before the commencement of each course. Weekly fees for residents are calculated from Sunday to Saturday. The School reserves the right to increase the fees at any time but no increase shall be effective during a period in respect of which fees have already been paid.
  • Monies will not be refunded to a student who wishes to terminate a course before the end of the period for which he/she has been enrolled. Students are advised to take out insurance against the premature termination of their course.
  • Throughout the course the student will be required to abide by the rules of the School at all times and attend classes regularly and punctually and to comply with all the instructions issued by the School.
  • The School reserves the right to suspend or dismiss a student who is guilty of unsatisfactory behaviour or likely to bring the School into disrepute, including lack of attendance. In such cases any fees already paid will not be refunded and the School is obliged to inform the Home Office and, in the case of young students, their parents.

Payments
1. By Cheque - Cheques should be made payable to Stafford House College and sent to Stafford House, 19 New Dover Road, Canterbury, Kent, CT1 3AH, England.
2. By Bankers Order or Draft - stating the name of the student, these can be paid direct into the School bank account at National Westminster Bank Plc, Canterbury City Centre Branch, 11 The Parade, Canterbury, Kent, CT1 2SQ - Sort Code: 60-04-27

3. By Credit Card - please complete and sign the section at the bottom of our application form.
Pocket money may be deposited with the School for weekly distribution in accordance with parents’ directions.

Enrolment
The Application Form should be returned to the Principal with the registration fee and appropriate deposit (see above).
Once this sum is received by the School, students are sent a Certificate of Acceptance, which will help them obtain any necessary visa and satisfy Immigration Authorities as to the purpose of their visit to the UK.

Medical and travel insurance
Before you arrive in Britain we strongly recommend that you arrange your own insurance, or that you take out insurance offered by Stafford House, to cover cancellation or curtailment of your period of study due to illness or accident, medical expenses, personal property, etc.
