Glasgow Study Centre

Welcome to Glasgow - a vibrant Scottish city

Glasgow combines the energy and sophistication of a great international city with some of Scotland's most spectacular scenery. The city is an architectural dream: Victorian red and honey sandstone buildings sit alongside Italianate steeples and medieval spires, while the famous Art Nouveau buildings of Charles Rennie Mackintosh contrast with the titanium, glass and steel of the contemporary city.

There is a wealth of attractions to discover in Glasgow plus a year-round calendar of festivals and special events, as well as over 70 parks and gardens and outstanding shopping and restaurants. Glasgow has more than 20 museums and galleries – many of them free – including the unique Burrell Collection, the stunning Charles Rennie Mackintosh House and the cool, contemporary Gallery of Modern Art.

Glasgow College of Nautical Studies
Glasgow College of Nautical Studies is situated in the centre of Glasgow on the south bank of the River Clyde. Every year over 7,000 students attend courses at the College on a wide range of programmes. Around 40% of College activity is in the specialist subject area of Maritime Studies, but courses are also delivered in many other subject areas such as Child Care, Education, Beauty Therapy, Business and Electronics. The College is situated next to Glasgow Green, a large park, which has within its grounds the People's Palace, a museum with exhibits demonstrating Glasgow's rich heritage. The park is also a very pleasant place for relaxation in the summer.
