Welcome to the county of Devon

Our Devon Study Centry is located in Budleigh Salterton, a charming, self-contained residential town by the sea, located in an area of outstanding natural beauty. It offers old world charm, beautiful red cliffs and lovely walks beside the River Otter. There are plenty of opportunities for shopping and leisurely browsing.

Budleigh Salterton has three miles of stunning, unspoilt beachline, with sandstone cliffs at one end and the mouth of the River Otter at the other and, like so many coastal towns in East Devon, it remains largely unspoilt.

Bicton College
Bicton College lies just outside the village of East Budleigh, birthplace of Sir Walter Raleigh, about 5 kilometres from Budleigh Salterton and 15 kilometres from Exeter, the historic county town of Devon. An hourly bus service passes outside the College to Sidmouth, Exmouth, Budleigh Salterton and the beach at Ladram Bay. The Botanic Gardens of Bicton Park are adjacent to the College.

Bicton College has seen many improvements in recent years including new en-suite bedrooms, a new Learning and Resource centre and an all-weather sports pitch. The College has over 700 full-time students plus part-time and short-course students. The range of programmes includes Agriculture, Horticulture, Arboriculture, Animal Care, Horse Studies, Business Studies, Countryside Management, Floristry, Engineering, specialist Outdoor Leisure Studies and Sports Studies.

Accommodation
There are some single en-suite rooms, some single rooms with shared shower and toilet facilities, and some small dormitories (maximum four people per room) with shared shower and toilet facilities. All accommodation is pleasant and well maintained. Coin-operated laundry facilities are available and the College has recently extended the lounge and bar, which is the centre for students' social activities, and there is also a TV lounge.
