Bath contains a wealth of architectural gems and is one of the three UNESCO World Heritage Cities. The Romans built the world-famous baths here and the massive remains are quite spectacular. Today, Bath is a bustling city which attracts visitors from all over the world. The city has an excellent selection of museums, galleries and smart shops, and holds an international music festival in May.
Kingswood School
Kingswood School was founded in 1748 by John Wesley, the famous preacher, originally as a school for the sons of priests. It moved to its present location in 1852 and in 1972 became co-educational, one of the first boarding schools to do so.
The school is located in a beautiful campus, overlooking the city of Bath about 15 minutes' walk, or a 5-minute bus ride, from the city centre. The main buildings are in local stone, and there are views over Bath and the surrounding countryside from the terraces.
Accommodation
Accommodation is provided in five houses on the campus, in a mixture of single-bedded rooms and small dormitories, which are limited to eight students per room. There are shower and toilet facilities on every floor. Each house has a common room and television lounge. A laundry service is available at a nominal charge.
