Accommodation and welfare
Our priority is to ensure that students and Group Leaders are secure and comfortable in their accommodation and that help is always at hand.
Accommodation
- Homestay: Fully furnished shared study bedroom (or single room with small supplement).
- Residential: Residential accommodation is in school or college halls of residence. Juniors: maximum eight to a room. Adult students: single or twin rooms. No more than six students share one bath or shower.
- Group Leaders: Group Leaders are usually accommodated in single rooms.
Meals
- Breakfasts and evening meals with host family (homestay) except in Canterbury, or at Centre dining room (residential).
- Hot lunches, Monday to Friday, in Centre dining room.
- Packed lunches are provided for excursions.
Transport
- Daily transport from homestay locations to/from the Centre.
Welfare and supervision
- Our policy is to care for all students throughout their stay whatever their age.
- For juniors we provide organised activities and supervision at all times.
- For adults, help is always at hand.
Medical and general insurance
In Britain, free medical treatment is available through the National Health Service to all European Union students and students from countries with reciprocal health agreements. This covers all medical matters, with the exception of dental treatment, glasses and prescriptions.
Students who are not covered by the National Health Service are advised to take out medical insurance before leaving their home countries. We strongly advise students to take out individual personal insurance to cover personal belongings, etc., before they come to the UK. If any student experiences difficulties, we will be happy to help them.
