International Undergraduate Foundation Programme

UCLan FoundationCampus students

Guaranteed entry to over 200 Degree programmes

Our specialist programme is designed to prepare international students who have completed senior secondary education for entry to a wide range of undergraduate degrees at UCLan.

Successful completion of one of the above pathways guarantees you entry to a UCLan undergraduate degree. Students will also be required to pass the UCLan English Language Test, for which special tuition will be provided as part of the course. IELTS exams can also be taken, but these are optional.

Ensuring your English exam success

We don't take any chances with your future. We know you want to progress to your degree so achieving the right results in the UCLan English Test is crucial. To ensure that you get the results you need, we assess your progress throughout the course by means of full and regular mock assessments. When you sit your final exam there won't be any surprises.

If you don't have the right IELTS score to start the Foundation (IELTS 4.5), you can begin with our English Language Preparation Programme.

University teaching and assessment

As a Foundation student at UCLan you will be fully part of the University. The course is delivered using the methods you would expect to find at a high quality modern institution:

  • classroom lessons
  • lectures
  • workshops / laboratory work 
  • seminars
  • tutorials
  • group work
  • debating
  • self study.

You will be assessed through coursework, essays, reports and other structured assignments, oral examinations and unseen written tests and examinations. You will need to complete and pass all parts of the course to successfully complete the programme and progress to your degree choice.
