UCLan FoundationCampus students

Guaranteed entry to Master's degree programmes

UCLan FoundationCampus offers affordable and high quality preparation programmes for international students who aren't currently eligible for direct entry to a UCLan postgraduate degree.

Successful completion of the Master's Foundation guarantees your entry to one of a wide range of exciting Master's degree programmes at UCLan. 

Students will also be required to pass the UCLan English Language Test, for which special tuition will be provided as part of the course. IELTS exams can also be taken, but these are optional.

Essential skills for your future

Our specialist programme is designed to ensure that you're well prepared for the UCLan Master's degree you want to study. During the course you will cover the following key areas of study:

  • English for Academic Purposes: ensuring your English meets the requirements for Master's level academic study in the UK
  • Business: ensuring you start your degree with a sound knowledge of Business practice
  • Research methods: you will develop and deliver your own research projects to prepare you for the rigours of your Master's projects
  • Introduction to UK study and ICT: it is important you understand what will be expected of you and how to make the most of the technology available for research in the UK

Ensuring your English exam success

We don't take any chances with your future. We know you want to progress to your degree so achieving the right results in the UCLan English Test is crucial. To ensure that you get the results you need, we assess your progress throughout the course by means of full and regular mock assessments. When you sit your final exam there won't be any surprises.

If you don't have the right IELTS score to start the Foundation (IELTS 5.0), you can begin with our English Language Preparation Programme.

University teaching and assessment

As a Foundation student at UCLan you will be fully part of the University. The course is delivered using the methods you would expect to find at a high quality modern institution:

You will be assessed through coursework, essays, reports and other structured assignments, oral examinations and unseen written tests and examinations.
