Essential skills for your future

Our specialist programme is designed to ensure that you're well prepared for the LSBU Master's degree you want to study. During the course you will cover the following key areas of study:

• English for Academic Purposes: ensuring your English meets the requirements for Master's level academic study in the UK
• Business: at the heart of all related LSBU Master's programmes
• Research methods: you will develop and deliver your own research projects to prepare you for the rigours of your Master's projects
• Introduction to UK study and ICT: it is important you understand what will be expected of you and how to make the most of the technology available for research in the UK

Depending on whether you choose the 1, 2 or 3 term programme, the course will be structured as follows:

A course that's made for you

The length and specific content of your course will be determined by your academic and English language level. For example:

• If you have achieved the minimum academic grades and your English is very good, you can join the three term programme and your course will be weighted towards academic content
   
• If you’ve gained higher academic grades but have lower English language skills (minimum IELTS 5.0) you can join the three term programme and study a balance of English language and academic content
   
• If you have achieved the minimum academic grades and your English is at IELTS 5.0, you may have to study extra English before joining the three term Master’s Foundation Programme.  

Ensuring your IELTS success

We don't take any chances with your future. We know you want to progress to your Master's degree so achieving a high IELTS score is crucial. To ensure that you get the results you need in your final IELTS exam, we assess your progress throughout the course by means of full and regular mock IELTS assessments. When you sit your final exam there won't be any surprises.
