Student residences

A range of comfortable, affordable accommodation

There are three main types of accommodation:

Catered halls of residence

Catered halls of residence provide a community environment where you will have your meals prepared by our team of friendly staff and have the opportunity to make friends with a diverse range of people.

Self-catered halls of residence

If you want the independence to cook for yourself and live in a small community, Coventry offers a variety of properties to choose from. En-suite study bedrooms are available in some residences, while others provide the same freedom but with the kitchen and bathroom facilities shared with other students living in each flat or house.

For postgraduate students there are dedicated properties offering self catered en-suite accommodation with different facilities depending on which type of room you choose.

University houses

University houses offer you the opportunity to be part of a small community in the local area. All the houses are within walking distance of the campus.

Houses vary in size from 5 - 30 bedroom properties, all offer kitchen and bathroom facilities proportional to the size of property and in most a lounge area.

Homestay accommodation

Some students prefer to begin their university life in a real home environment, living with a friendly UK family. This is a great way to experience the British way of life as well as improving your spoken English.

We work with an organisation called Home-From-Home to arrange hosted accommodation for students for a short or long term period.

Find out more using the links below:

Can I visit the accommodation before I confirm my booking?

You are welcome to view your accommodation in advance, so you can meet the host family and make sure you are happy with the match.

Can I change my accommodation if I am unhappy?

Because of the high level of personal service during the matching process, it is rare for a student to be unhappy with their host family. However, Home-from-Home are happy to arrange a transfer to different accommodation if you become unhappy or feel that the accommodation is unsuitable.

Living costs

Coventry is the 3rd least expensive UK city to study in (Royal Bank of Scotland Student Living Index 2006).

How much money you'll need for your living expenses depends on the standard of living that you are used to.

Remember that while you are studying at FoundationCampus and Coventry University you'll need to budget for accommodation, books, food, study materials, travel and your social life.

An approximate guide would be £190 per week.
