The only Arts School in the world to be associated with University of the Arts London (UAL) Awarding Body.
Cambridge School of Visual & Performing Arts has been approved by the prestigious University of the Arts London (UAL) Awarding Body to deliver the Foundation Diploma in Art and Design from September 2010.
This nationally accredited qualification is awarded by UAL Awarding Body to a select number of institutes they believe to provide best practice in the teaching and assessment of art and design programmes. CSVPA is the ONLY independent college currently approved by the Awarding Body.
The main purpose of the Foundation Diploma in Art & Design is to equip students with the knowledge, understanding and skills necessary for successful progression into Higher Education or employment. The qualification is quality assured by UAL Awarding Body through a rigorous external moderation process and grades are monitored against agreed national standards.
Chris Maughan, Head of CSVPA is delighted by the news.
"We have an enviable track record of progressing international and UK students to some of the best HE arts colleges in the world. In 2009 alone, 40% of our art and design foundation students accepted offers from one of the six University of the Arts London Colleges which include Central Saint Martins, London College of Fashion and Chelsea College of Art and Design." He goes on to say, "It is therefore a real accomplishment to be approved by UAL Awarding Body."
The school has enjoyed a long history of endorsements from some of the most respected names in the field. Its annual Arts Festival includes a public exhibtion, drama performances and a Fashion Show, with this year’s brief set by Christopher Bailey – Burberry Chief Creative Director and current BFC (British Fashion Council) Designer of the Year. Previous sponsors have included Jean Paul Gaultier, Vivienne Westwood, Julien Macdonald, Ben de Lisi, Valentino, Philip Treacy, Katharine Hamnett, Betty Jackson and Levis Strauss.
CSVPA is the only visual and performing arts school in the UK to specialise in the provision of programmes to international students. As well as attracting a significant percentage of British students, our pupils come from across the world ranging from China, Korea, Russia, Germany and the US to name but a few. Meet our students
