Jewellery Summer School

Our jewellery summer school lasts for one week (5 days) and runs from the 20th to 27th July.

Course outline:

am	Create with Paper -Introduction to paper beading and making jewellery components -Tutor Demo -Students create basic necklace	Creating with Polymer Clay -Introduction to Material - Tutor Demo -Colour and Form inspirations: Klee and Miro	Beading of Ancient Civilisations -Introduction to ceremonial jewellery forms and natural materials -Tutor demo -Students create unique design	Working with Wire and Metals -Technique Demo -Introduction to Rennie Mackintosh -Students create a jewellery set inspired by artist	Recycled Chic -Introduction to materials such as bags, cans, bric-a-brac, shells, stones -Meet artists Warhol and Goldsworthy -Tutor Demo - Design Ideas -Students make a piece of their own
pm	Papier mâche, quilling origami -Design inspired by Klee and Kandinsksi -Tutor demo -Students create pieces using at least 2 techniques	Earring/Keyrings and Hair Clasps -Tutor led demo on different techniques -Adding ‘bling’, paint and varnish	Half Day Excursion Visit Museum of Anthropology and Archaeology and jewellery stores in Market Square	Students continue making pieces Note: ‘Hot’ Enamelling and casting may be included if equipment available	Exhibition -Students complete unfinished work -Student exhibition -Tour of workshop
