Top students choose new Cambridge Pre-U

CATS Cambridge is now offering the prestigious new Cambridge Pre-U qualification designed for top students aiming at Oxbridge and Russell Group University entry.

This two-year programme provides an alternative to A-levels for the most  gifted and talented students. Developed by University of Cambridge International Examinations (CIE), it prepares students with the knowledge and skills they need to make a success of their studies at a top university.

CATS Cambridge is delighted to be amongst an elite few Colleges offering this new programme. It opened to students in Cambridge in September 09 and there is also a January 2010 start date available. The Cambridge Pre-U:

- is structured to award grade points higher than can be achieved at A-level
- can be combined with A-levels
- is recognised by all Russell Group universities who welcome it as a way of selecting the most gifted students.

Students can study up to four Cambridge Pre-U subjects or substitute one or two of these for A-level subjects. Cambridge Pre-U subjects available are:

- Mathematics
- Further Mathematics
- Economics
- Physics
- Psychology (from Sept 2010 only)
- Biology (from Sept 2010 only)
- Chemistry (from Sept 2010 only)
