The Historic City of Canterbury

“There is good music in Canterbury… life here has made me more mature.”

The historic city of Canterbury is home to three universities, so it’s a great place to be a student. Big enough to be stimulating, but small enough to make you feel at home quickly, Canterbury is a very friendly place.

Our city combines history with modernity, and excitement with safety. With plenty of opportunities for sports, culture and entertainment, you’ll discover that the weather is some of the best in England - and you’ll be close to some great seaside resorts throughout Kent, known as “the garden of England”.

And if you want to escape to the city, London is just over an hour away by train…

City highlights:

  • historic cathedral city
  • medieval architecture
  • only 90 minutes from London
  • countryside and the sea close by
  • wide choice of shops, cafés and restaurants
  • music, movies and theatre
  • good libraries and bookshops
  • road and rail links to other UK towns and cities, and France.

CATS Canterbury

Our campus is close to the central city, but you’ll also find all the facilities you need during the day on campus, with our library, lecture theatre and dining hall.
