What is the Academic English programme?

The Academic English programme is designed for international students whose English language skills are not yet developed enough for academic study in the UK.

Students study English language courses such as General English and English for Academic Purposes. We will ensure that you reach the right English language level one of our academic programmes as quickly as possible.

Subjects studied: General English and English for Academic Purposes
Assessment: Coursework, regular testing and IELTS

Who is this course for?

Students whose English language skills do not meet requirements for our other courses.
Students determined to succeed on one of our GCSE, A-level or IB courses.
Students who wish to improve their English language skills.
Students who wish to acheive the required IELTS for a university degree.

Entry requirements

Age: 16+
Academic level: whatever is appropriate for chosen level of further academic study
English Language level: Lower Intermediate

Course length:1, 2 or 3 terms
Hours in class:26-30 hours per week
Entry dates: September, January, April, June or July
Tuition fees: £4,500 per term
