Improve your English through Study Abroad

The Study Abroad programme is designed for international students aged 16+ and provides the opportunity to:

  • gain an insight into British education and culture
  • improve your English language skills using the subjects that interest you most
  • broaden your horizons by meeting and studying with students from over 60 countries
  • earn credit for studies in your home country.

Subject options

Students select specialist English language courses and up to four subjects from the areas described below. If a particular subject combination is not available then the College will advise on a suitable alternative which leads to relevant pathways for future careers or university study.

English Language courses

In addition to their academic subject options, students are timetabled for five hours of specialist Academic English language support per week covering speaking, listening, writing and reading as well as cultural awareness and study skills.

Free-time activities

In addition to formal study, CATS Cambridge offers a broad range of extra-curricular activities which provide further opportunity for personal growth and development. The range of activities includes sports, arts clubs, debating and philosophy groups (including membership of the Cambridge University Student Union Society).

Course Dates & Fees

We offer flexibility with start dates in September, January and April with courses lasting from one to four terms.

Accommodation
Students can choose either Homestay (living with a local family) or College Lodges, where there are both single and twin rooms available.

Homestay (over-18s only)
This option is only available to students over 18 years of age. It offers the opportunity to live in a friendly Cambridge family setting, and students gain direct experience of daily life and culture in the UK.

Full board:  £2,150 per term

College Lodges
Accommodation varies from smaller, traditional Cambridge houses to larger residencies housing up to 40 students. 

All Lodges are managed by full-time live-in supervisors who can help with anything from using the washing machine to getting to College.

Single room, en-suite, full board:  
£3,050 per term

Single room, not en-suite, full board:  
£2,850 per term

Twin room, full board:  
£1,950 per term
