Prepare yourself for the Art Foundation

Our Pre-Foundation course will prepare you for our Art Foundation in just 1, 2 or 3 terms. You can start in January, April or September depending on how long you need to study.

This course is ideal for:

  • students who need to improve their English to study Art & Design in the UK
  • students who have not taken Art & Design as a major subject at high school (aged 16-18).

Every student who has taken the Pre-Foundation course has gone on to complete the Art & Design Foundation course successfully. Our Art Foundation students then go on to study degree courses at a wide range of top international art schools and universities.

 

A range of creative options

We offer a flexible course to meet your specific needs. 

The course is built around five basic modules which can be studied in different combinations:

Module 1 - EAP (English for Academic Purposes)
Improve your general English Language skills and also learn specialist terms for Art & Design.

Module 2 - Design
Improve your skills in graphics and illustration.

Module 3 - Fine Art
Improve your skills in painting, sculpture and printmaking.

Module 4 - Textiles / Craft
Improve your skills in textiles or applied crafts (metal work, beading, jewellery etc).

Module 5 - Drawing
Improve your skills in drawing.

Age: 17+

Artistic level: A good portfolio of work plus a good secondary / high school education

English Language level:
IELTS 4.0 - 5.0

Course details
Course length: 1, 2 or 3 terms

Hours in class: 35+ hours per week

Entry dates:
January (2-terms); April (1-term); September (3-terms)

Tuition fees: £4,500 per term
